Located on the southeast corner of the Quadrangle with Davenport Hall to the north and Foellinger Auditorium to the south-west. Matthews Avenue borders to the east. The building is located on a cobblestone paved courtyard.
The Foreign Languages Building is rectangular in shape. A series of two push-plate activated doors form a vestibule entrance located on the east side. The entrance is to a long, wide, main corridor on the first floor. Elevators are located at the end of this corridor, directly opposite the east entry. Restrooms and stairs are located along a short hallway that turns north and continues to the west of the elevators. The stairs are on the south side of this hallway, restrooms are on the north side. The women's restroom has a push-plate activated door.
A pay phone is located on the north wall, just inside the east building entrance after the second pair of vestibule doors.
The first floor is a series of rooms along both sides of the long corridor. The room numbers increase in a clockwise direction from the east entry.
The elevators exit the second, third and fourth floors in the middle of a north/south hallway. There is a north corridor and a south corridor which runs east/west. The room numbers decrease to the east along the south corridor and increase to the east along the north corridor. There are also rooms located directly behind the elevators.
The elevators exit the basement on the north end of a north/south hallway. There is a north corridor and a south corridor which runs east/west. The even numbered rooms decrease to the east on the south corridor and odd numbered rooms decrease to the east on the north corridor.
